Yves Saint Laurent Selects: Les Enfants du Paradis
October 26, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
As he grew up, Yves Saint Laurent’s personal and professional sensibilities were shaped by the art of film. SAM and Alliance Francaise de Seattle present two of Saint Laurent’s favorites, each a model of refined beauty and compelling romance: “Les Enfants du Paradis (Children of Paradise),” Marcel Carne, 1945 and “La Belle et la Bete (Beauty and the Beast),” Jean Cocteau, 1948. We’ll also screen the remarkable “Belle de jour” starring Catherine Deneuve, for which Saint Laurent designed the costumes. Luis Bunuel, 1967.
35mm films in French with English subtitles.
