Really? On a Wednesday? There’s an embarassment of riches to choose from tonight all over the Big Gay Hill and Beyond…
For instance, a bevvy of queer friendly bands with loyal followings are playing at The Comet: check out Glitterbang, Noddy, Dangerous Ponies and DJ Nark starting at 9pm, then head across the street to Havana for Choice Wednesdays with Nark and Friends. Rock with your PBR out…
Or, wander down to the Crescent Lounge for decadent Karaoke Fun with the scariest hostess in town, the de-lovely Jackie Hell…that also starts at 9pm and no cover…the Crescent is ALWAYS a bargain!
For you Gothy/Industrial types, there’s Bloodlust at Pony with DJ’s Gin+Tonic, Luying and a fond farewell to DJ Teabag who’s leaving the Emerald City for new worlds to conquer. The noise and perversion start at 9pm. It’s the Easter edition of Bloodlust, (uh, they’re a bit late…) and urge you to: “COME AND RESURRECT YOUR OWN PERSONAL JESUS”. How sweet.
If noisy, slovenly, grungy bar events ain’t your thang, there’s always Gay People in Seattle’s monthly cocktail party/networking event…True, it IS a bar event, but it’s a clean, well-lighted bar in Belltown and I doubt if they even HAVE PBR…This month’s party is at Acquabar Bistro Lounge, 305 Bell St and you can mingle and flirt with men and women in neatly pressed slacks from Nordstrom and Barneys…
For theater types, there’s the delightful Solo Performance Festival at Theatre Off Jackson in the International District. Tonight, they are featuring the glorious Troy Mink in his oddly titled show, mEnTaL at 8pm and Gerald Alejandro Ford’s Chicha : Or How to Love a Chola Fashionista Bulldyke at 9:15pm.
Last, but certainly not least, for folks looking for some serious education about HIV/AIDS prevention/treatment there’s Gay City’s “The Magic Pill” forum at the Erickson Theater on Capitol Hill featuring local health workers answering questions about the latest treatments in HIV/AIDS. Doors open at 6:30pm, event starts at 7pm and it’s FREE. Check out our coverage HERE.
