Crystal Bowersox headlines the Seattle PrideFest Benefit Concert on June 25th.

One Degree Events, the producers of Seattle PrideFest 2011 announced today that American Idol Season Nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox will be a headliner at this year’s PrideFest Benefit Concert to be held Saturday, June 25. She is the first artist announced for the concert, where 100% of net proceeds will benefit this year’s designated non-profit, Equal Rights Washington, with more artists to be announced shortly. Pre-sale tickets are available for $18 now through 8am on May 20 at BROWNPAPERTICKETS.COM with the Discount/Pre Sale Code: EQUALITY. Tickets go to $20 after that for the event to be held at the Mural Amphitheatre at Seattle Center with gates opening at 5pm, show starting at 6pm and ending around 9:30pm. A beer garden for the 21+ crowd, food and merchandise will be available for sale at the event. For more information, check out the PrideFest 2011 website.

The 25 year old Ohioan won the hearts of millions of fans on American Idol last season, as well as the judges, and eventually finished second to winner Lee DeWyze, the first female to make it to the finals since Jordin Sparks won in 2007. Ms Bowersox’s first album, “Farmer’s Daughter” debuted in December 2010 at number 28 on the Billboard Top 200 charts and the country singer was compared to a former “Idol” winner and described as “the anti-Carrie Underwood” by Washington Post critic Allison Stewart for her modern rock take on the country genre.
