The monthly meeting/networking group of Power Gays known as Gay People in Seattle or “GPiS” has scheduled this month’s soiree at the Lobby Bar from 6pm to 9pm and naturally Prideful things are on the agenda. Pop in to hobnob with white/pink/blue/rainbow collared queer folk and make some new connections. We’re guessing Pride events will be the hot topic of discussion, and the whole Pride Flag on the Needle controversy and GPiS co-founder Geoff Tucker has issued a challenge of sorts to folks coming to tonight’s shindig:
GPiS is responding to the Space Needle Challenge to raise funds so that the flag would fly. We are raffling great items tonight in support of this. Though the flag is now flying anyway, your generosity is much appreciated.
Raffle tickets are $5 each, and all proceeds go to the Space Needle Challenge benefiting these four charities: GSBA Scholarship Program, Lambda Legal, ‘It Gets Better’ for Trevor Project, and Mary’s Place.
Tonight’s items include:
– (2) Gift Certificates for SkyCity Restaurant atop the Space Needle. Each one is a dinner for two worth $125.
– (10) individual or (5) pairs of tickets to the Saturday Pride Concert for Equality with Crystal Bowersox and Thelma Houston.
– (6) tickets to the RED Party with DJ Brian Gorr.Make a $1 donation and receive a Space Needle floaty pen.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Mark, Tracy, and Geoff
