Deborah Cox makes Seattle debut at Red Dress Party 2012!

Two things: The Seattle Red Dress Party Commitee made two announcements on December 1st. One, tickets are now on sale for the 4th annual event to raise money for Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Gay City, Rosehedge/Multifaith Works and  and you can get’em at Brown Paper Tickets. The event happens February 18, 2012 at Fremont Studios. Two: The Committee was thrilled to announce that dance music diva Deborah Cox will be the headliner for the event. Here’s the 411 from their press release:

The Steering committee for the 4th Annual Seattle Red Dress Party, benefiting Seattle non-profits working with those living with HIV and AIDS announced today that legendary singer Deborah Cox will make her Seattle debut headlining the upcoming event on 2/18/12. While singing with Celine Dion, Cox was discovered by the infamous Clive Davis and instantly signed to Arista Records. A multi-platinum selling and a multi-talented entertainer, Cox has earned three Juno Awards, conquered the R&B and pop charts, including six top-20 Billboard R&B singles, an impressive ten #1 hits on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart and the lead role in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Broadway musical, Aida. Deborah will be returning to Broadway in 2012 where she will portray the legendary Josephine Baker in Josephine. Joining Cox will be local DJ sensation DJ Brian Gorr. “DJ Brian Gorr is a crowd favorite and a legend in the LGBT club scene, of course he is the perfect fit for this community centered event” said Seattle Red Dress Party, Executive Director, Sam Galano. DJ Almond Brown will open the night and Seattle’s most beloved drag superstar, Gaysha Starr, will once again grace the stage and host the 2012 event. Tickets are on sale now and available through www.seattlereddressparty.org. The event is expected to sell out so purchasing tickets early is recommended. The beneficiary organizations are Gay City Health Project, Lifelong AIDS Alliance, Rosehedge/Multifaith Works and Rise n’ Shine.
