Casting Call For Bullshit And Bigotry: Focus On The Family Looks For Actors For Anti-Equality Ad

October 18, 2012• bySeattle Gay Scene

Remember that awful “There’s a Storm a’comin’!” anti-marriage equality ad? Well, there’s more shit like that a brewin’!!!

Hey Puget Sound Actors and Wannabes! Focus on the Family, the awful, “Christian” values hate group who oppose marriage equality, is casting for actors for an upcoming attack ad to defeat Referendum 74! The lovely folks at local production company Life Tree Studios have posted a casting call for actors who enjoy promoting bigotry and stupidity! AND, it pays $200! SWEEEEEEET! You can pay your cell phone bill AND contribute to a climate of intolerance and inequality!

Here’s what they’re looking for:

Most are speaking roles. Looking for friendly demeanor. No big
emotional range needed. Do not have to be actual couples. Will be cold
reading from script at audition.

25-30 YEAR OLD MALE AND FEMALE COUPLE
male and female
ages 20s – 30s
diverse ethnicities (Asian, African American, Hispanic, East Indian,
Native American, Pacific Islander, etc…)

40-50 YEAR OLD MALE AND FEMALE COUPLE
male and female
ages 40s-50s
diverse ethnicities (Asian, African American, Hispanic, East Indian,
Native American, Pacific Islander, etc…)

60 YEAR OLD MALE
male
ages 55- 60s
diverse ethnicity (Asian, African American, Hispanic, East Indian,
Native American, Pacific Islander, etc…)

YOUNG SINGLE PARENT AND CHILD
male or female
20s
diverse ethnicities (Asian, African American, Hispanic, East Indian,
Native American, Pacific Islander, etc…)

male or female child ages 9 years old or younger
diverse ethnicities (Asian, African American, Hispanic, East Indian,
Native American, Pacific Islander, etc…)

WHO needs emotional range to portray a tool of oppression?!?!?

To take the bad taste out of our mouths, here’s the Colbert Report’s own “Storm” video…fast forward to the 3:30 mark to see the actual video, but why would you want to miss Mr. Colbert’s commentary?
