Here’s a Happy Hour Alternative to getting blotto in a bar and maybe an ideal option for our friends who don’t drink…the adorable SISTER GLO from The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence-Abbey of St. Joan is hosting a movie viewing series in Gay City Health Project’s lovely meeting space, Calamus Auditorium. AND, it’s happening TONIGHT (meaning Friday, March 21, 2014) at 6pm at 517 East Pike Street. This screening’s cinematic treat will be the controversial Oscar winning film, DALLAS BUYER’S CLUB starring Matthew McConaughy and Jared Leto who BOTH won Academy Awards.
Here’s poo from the FB invite:
Join Sister Glo for a Friday night film and discussion. We’ll watch Dallas Buyers Club, based on a true story about electrician and hustler Ron Woodroof working around the system in 1985 Dallas to help AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is himself diagnosed with the disease. After we watch, well, you know how it goes – we’ll talk!
This is a free, BYOP (bring your own popcorn) event. UPDATE: SASG has graciously agreed to bring snacks and drinks. Yay!!
The movie will begin at 6:30
Location:
The Calamus Auditorium at Gay City Health Project, 517 E Pike St, Seattle WA 98122

Hopefully, they’ll be a juicy discussion afterwards…many people loved the film while others had reservations about it including charges that the film was a glossy Hollywood version of the real story and others unhappy that a straight (?) male actor played a transgendered role.
Let the conversation begin!
