Moisture Festival Springs Into Action With The Buckaroos

"Beef...it's what's for...." You know the rest. "Bronco" is one of the stars of BUCKAROOS USA, the dance/comedy/boylesque troupe performing April 3, 2014 at Moisture Festival.

“Beef…it’s what’s for….”
You know the rest.
“Bronco” is one of the stars of BUCKAROOS USA, the dance/comedy/BeefLesque troupe performing April 3, 2014 at Moisture Festival.

It’s the time of the year when a young man’s fancy turns to…seasonal allergies and the persistent hope it’ll be warm up to go to Madison Beach.

In reality, it means that Seattle’s annual burlesque/circus-lesque variety cavalcade known as MOISTURE FESTIVAL is kicking into high gear at various venues all over town but primarily at Hale’s Palladium the performance space at Hale’s Brewery in FremAllard, that odd stretch of land between Fremont and Ballard that tain’t quite one or the other, aka 4301 Leary Way NW. All the more family friendly comedy/varietè shows happen there; check calendar for dates, times and tickets.

The naughtier burlesque entertainments are actually happening on Capitol Hill at the Broadway Performance Hall on the Seattle Central Community College Campus at the corner of Pine & Broadway. Check out that same calendar to find out dates/times/tickets etc for the zexy shenanigans from the likes of:

For an adult evening, The Moisture Festival presents Libertease Burlesque at the beautiful Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill. Featuring a tantalizing mix of burlesque stars and ribald comedy/varietè acts – always seductive and delightful. A live show band propels the show and the audience is encouraged to be comfortable, loose and loud. This year we take a walk on the wild side with Armitage Shanks curating the shows. He travels the world wide burlesque circuit as Master of Ceremonies, but this year he is one of the festival’s burlesque coordinators!

This show’s artists include: Angelique DeVil, Armitage Shanks, Blurred Lines, Georgetown Orbits, Inga Ingénue, Jacki and Nicolo, Jenny Penny,Luminous Pariah, Miss Ekaterina, Mod Carousel, Moist-ettes Ensemble,Steve Flynn, Sydni Deveraux, Trixie Little & the Evil Hate Monkey, Trojan Original, Zero Boy

The MC: Armitage Shanks

Show Band: Georgetown Orbits

To be honest, we are most excited about the only male oriented show scheduled for this year’s Moisture Festival. The local dance, beeflesque, comedy troupe THE BUCKAROOS USA will perform ONE show at this year’s festival and it’s happening on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Broadway Performance Hall at 7:30 pm and a few tickets remain. If you enjoy semi-nekkid male dancers with terrific bodies and amazing talents, we suggest you check it out. Here’s more on The Buckaroos:

BUCKAROOS USA is a rare combination of sexy and down-home fun comprised of dance, comedy and theater. Professional dancers and veterans of the Northwest entertainment scene Jonathan Betchtel, Keon Price, Benjamin Meersman, Eric Ested, Joe Frothingham and host Kaleb Kerr electrify the stage with laugh out loud humor and country dance hoe downs. BUCKAROOS USA is satirical twist on Male Revue staples such as Chip ‘n Dales and Thunder From Down Under, in the spirit of Full Monty. They’ll be working in the Moisture Festival corral for a special one day Thursday night Boylesque event.

Our personal favorite is Bronco. We’re guessing he’s a master BBQ chef and handy doing household chores.

OK…not guessing. We’re HOPING he’s “handy” around the house.
