“Vanilla Sparkle” Cabaret Showcases Queer Artists//Marriage Equality

April 7, 2014• bySeattle Gay Scene

There’s a new queer cabaret in town and it’s at a venue that’s not quite on the local Seattle queer radar. VANILLA SPARKLE is the name of the new quarterly event and the venue is Highway 99 Blues Club at 1414 Alaskan Way down on the waterfront…and, you KNOW we adore “covering the water front”! Producing the event is “The Vanilla Mustache”, aka Jocelyn Beresford the manager at Highway 99 and also a producer at Blue Velvet Entertainment, a burlesque focused production company.

The first episode in VANILLA SPARKLE: The Butch’s Take On Getting Married, is “When You Meet The One” and it’s kicking off the series this coming Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 8 pm. More on the show:

The Vanilla Mustache & Sparky are teaming up to bring you stories, performances and live music about the hilarious and heart-warming process of gay marriage.

With live original performances by Isabella Extynn St. James, Jezebel Rebel Cabaret, Randy Andy, Caela Bailey, Trojan Original & Paris Original and backed by the live music of favorite local band Xolie Morra & The Strange Kind, this journey through the awkward dating, falling in love and the proposal to “The One” will melt your heart and keep you laughing through the whole night.

All the artists have creative freedom to present an act fitting with the theme, and the whole show will be telling the story of the queer’s experience of getting married. Almost all the acts are performed to live music.

The series will continue on June 11 with “The Bachelorette Party” followed by “Suit & Tie” on August 13 and wrapping up on October 8, 2014 with “The Wedding”.

Here’s a charming video promotion for the new cabaret:

We think this show is definitely worth checking out. Grab tickets HERE!
