Friday Pride Options For: Underagers, Ladies, POC & Shabbat Seekers

Pretty much everyone and their lesbian Jewish/Gypsy cousin of color from Albania who’s trans* and handi-capable has an option for a Pride event. For tonight/today here are some options.

(Sadly, nothing Albanian in nature.)

1) For the Underage Crowd: The 4th Annual Youth Pride Dance at Belltown Community Center (corner of 5th Avenue and Bell).

2) For “Queer and Trans* Folks of Color” (and allies) there’s the FIRE PRIDE PARTY at Dahlak Eritrean Cuisine, 2007 S State St, which is just off Rainier south of I-90. MORE info:

3) For all the ladies loving ladies out there, from jocky mullet wearers to the lipsticked and bejeweled, there’s the much anticipated opening of The Wildrose’s adored Pride Street Party, “BUSH GARDENS”. (Note: it’s their slightly naughty nickname, not mine!!”) The Garden opens its gates at 6pm with DJs Colby B and Tony Burns with Lady Jane taking over at 10pm….

…for the 1st annual Booty Shakin’ CONTEST!!!

4) For our Queer Jewish friends there is the annual Pride Shabbat at Temple Beth Am, 2632 NE 80th, which is North Seattle in the Ravenna ‘hood.

Temple Beth Am is delighted to host this year’s city-wide Pride Shabbat! Open to the entire community, Pride Shabbat is a celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Jews, with their friends, allies, and families.

After the service, everyone is invited to attend a free kosher, Va’ad-approved, Shabbat dinner, sponsored by TBA and Jewish community partners. An ASL interpreter will be available for the evening.

That’s a lot to do…especially if you’re a 20 year old African-American Jewish Lesbian with a great fake I.D.
