Look Who’s Turning One! The Jinkx Monsoon Film “Drag Becomes Him”

Our baby is growing up!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Drag Becomes Him, the first full length documentary film about Seattle drag superstar JINKX MONSOON, the winner of Season Five of the competitive drag contest show “RuPaul’s Drag Race” had its World Premiere one year ago today in front of a sold out crowd of fans, friends, family and supporters of Jinkx Monsoon and the local filmmakers at the Seattle Cinerama cinema. I was a small part of this amazing project, working on the film as one of the producers, and it has been an incredible experience. Thanks to Jinkx/Jerick, director Alex Berry and producers Basil Shadid and Jacob Leander for letting me experience this with them. Muah!

Since that day of pageantry and excess, the film has gone global by screening at film festivals around the world. And, since this last winter, the film has been available for home viewing via digital rental/purchase on Vimeo OR for digital rental/purchase AND hard copy purchase via Amazon. com. If you haven’t seen the film, you can now enjoy it in the privacy of your own home! (Ditto if you want to see it again…and again…and again!)

And, it’s likely that it could end up on a television screen near you, as well. An edited version of the film has been bought by an European television network for airing in their country. More info on that, SOON!
