Seattle Tattoo Expo Returns Offering Seattleites Access To The World’s Top Tattoo Artists Including World-Famous Lyle Tuttle, August 18-20
Weekend festivities include ink, tattoo seminars, live music, burlesque,
food and beverage, and so much more.
Seattle, WASH. (July 20, 2017) – Now in its 16th iteration, the Seattle Tattoo Expo returns to Seattle to anchor summertime at Seattle Center with artistry, tattoo history and culture, live music and performance, and so much more. Hosted by Seattle’s internationally recognized shop, Hidden Hand Tattoo, the Expo offers access to leading artists in tattooing both locally and from around the world, featuring famous tattoo artist Lyle Tuttle; Jeff and April Cornell (Hidden Hand Tattoo, Seattle); Shawn Barber (Memoir Tattoo, Los Angeles); Damon Conklin (SuperGenius Tattoo, Seattle) and dozens of others. The Seattle Tattoo Expo is August 18-20, 2017 – tickets are on sale now at SeattleTattooExpo.com.
The Seattle Tattoo Expo was formed with the primary goal of exposing new talent, showcasing existing fan favorites, and providing enthusiasts with a gathering place to share their love for this enduring art form. Over the years, the Expo has exposed Seattleites to hundreds of artists from around the world and thousands of people have come out to soak it all up since its first iteration. After all, whether a tattoo is intended for personal meaning or artistic self-expression, in Seattle, tattoos can be found on people from all walks of life. “This event has evolved over the years to be an invite-only event for artists from around the world, meaning attendees are gaining access to the best of the best in the business,” Jeff Cornell, owner and tattooist of Hidden Hand Tattoo comments. “Seattle is a tattoo city. At any given time, thousands of people are getting tattoos here. It’s because of that, that I think the Seattle Tattoo Expo is so great – it opens up the tattoo community, inviting any and everyone into it, making it easy to get a tattoo by someone truly fantastic.”
This year, prolific tattoo-artist-turned-tattoo- historian Lyle Tuttle returns to the Festival with something brand new: his traveling tattoo museum, an exhibit featuring tattoo memorabilia from his life’s travels across six continents tattooing the likes of Janis Joplin, Cher, and The Allman Brothers among literally hundreds of others. Today, Lyle’s tattoo memorabilia collection is the largest and most diverse in the world, and this history will be on display throughout the entire weekend of the Expo. Lyle, along with other prominent and respected artists, will also be on-site throughout the Expo taking part in seminars, so while he is retired from tattooing, his work and artistry will still make a considerable impact on this event.
Seattle Tattoo Expo is also excited to offer up a line-up of live music from Northwest artists, burlesque performance from Jamie Von Stratton of The Atomic Bombshells burlesque troupe, the ever-popular slew of tattoo contests including “Best Portrait” and “Worst Tattoo,” delicious fare, a beer garden, and the Vendor Village. All performances artists will be announced over the coming weeks, as will further details around event seminar programming, contest details, and so forth.
