Dido Is Still on Our Mind…She’ll Also Be Here On Pride Sunday

February 22, 2019• byMichael Strangeways

Some smart event producer needs to get on this…British pop star DIDO has a new album, a new single and a new tour coming up.

You can learn more about the music down below, but the singer/songwriter with a big LGBTQ following is embarking on an American tour in June of this year with a stop at The Showbox SoDo on….Sunday, June 30th.

Which is Pride Sunday in Seattle.

Hey, Seattle Pride and PrideFest! Go contact her management team to get her to appear at Parade and the Festival!!!!

DO IT!

More on the new track “Chances” from the new album STILL ON MY MIND out March 8th:

Dido releases “Chances” a new track from her forthcoming album “Still On My Mind” out March 8th via BMG. Preview Chances.

Says Dido, “It’s called Chances and I wrote it for a friend who was having a hard time, to remind them tomorrow is another day and another chance.”

Check out the stunning new video for  ‘Give You Up’ Shot in both Paris and London, the video is directed by Sophie Muller (Björk, Beyoncé, Radiohead, Blur) and perfectly encapsulates the pain of heartbreak. Watch the video for ‘Give You Up’ HERE

Incredibly empowering and moving, ‘Give You Up’ was written by Dee Adam, Si Hulbert and Australian duo The Opposite Kids (Denny Thakrar and Rob Agostini). “It’s just so perfect,” Dido said of the track. “It’s a good break up song, where you’ve been hurt but feel strong. It’s that point in a relationship where you are pulling yourself out of the gutter and deciding that it’s their loss.  Which I can totally relate to.”

‘Still On My Mind’ is Dido’s 5th studio album and was written and recorded in England, a result of the fruitful and incredibly natural production/songwriting partnership with her long term collaborator and brother (Faithless founder) Rollo.

The multi-million selling singer goes on a world tour throughout 2019 which includes several dates in the US:

June 13 – Chicago, IL – Vic Theatre

June 17 – Boston, MA – House of Blues

June 19 – New York, NY – Terminal 5

June 21 – Washington DC – Lincoln Theatre

June 22 – Philadelphia, PA – Union Transfer

June 25 – Los Angeles, CA – The Wiltern

June 26 – San Francisco, CA – The Masonic

June 28 – Portland, OR – Roseland Theater

June 30 – Seattle, WA – Showbox SODO

With sales of more than 40 million albums worldwide, Dido is one of the best- selling UK artists ever. Both ‘No Angel’ and its 2003 follow-up, ‘Life For Rent’, still rank among the UK’s biggest-selling albums of all-time.

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
