Wanna know more about plans for Seattle Pride’s 2019 celebrations? You have a chance on Wednesday, April 3rd when the board for Seattle Pride (also known as Seattle Out & Proud) hosts a public meeting to “discuss community partnerships/programs” as well as recap the 2018 Seattle Pride events and most importantly, talk about the plans for 2019 happening this June, with numerous events and culminating in the big Pride Parade in downtown Seattle on Pride Sunday, June 30th.

It’s being held at Swedish Hospital’s Glaser Auditorium (747 Broadway) at 7pm (lasting to 8:30 pm) on Wednesday, April 3rd. More deets at the Facebook page.  Directions to Swedish: https://www.swedish.org/locations/first-hill-campus/first-hill-map-and-directions

Also, so you know, registration is now open for the Parade…go here for info/to sign up to be IN the parade.

They haven’t released info on Grand Marshals or Announcers yet…we’re guessing we’ll find out some of that at the meeting. We have heard popular/hard working Seattle area drag star/dj ARSON NICKI will be one of the announcers this year.

Also to note: This is Seattle Pride who put on the PARADE. This is not Seattle PrideFest who produce the festivals on Capitol Hill (on Pride Saturday, June 29) and the Pride Festival on Sunday the 30th at Seattle Center. TOTALLY separate organizations because that’s Seattle for ya! Why have one group produce area Pride events when you can complicate things and have TWO competing groups???!!!

YAY!!!!

Sigh…Seattle.

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
