It’s Fleet Week In Seattle…Check Out Events At Pier 62

August 1, 2022• byMichael Strangeways

The Navy comes to town every year during SeaFair and that’s terrific for local naval families…and, also lovely for folks who have a yen for a man (or woman) in a naval uniform.

Who doesn’t love Seamen!!!???!!?

Of course, this year, we not only have Covid still lurking around in a malevolent new form but now there’s also the creepy pestilence known as Monkey Pox. So, our advice is, at least for this year, look but don’t touch when it comes to honoring our Naval Forces!

One thing you can do that (probably) doesn’t involve skin to skin contact is check out the Fleet Week events they’re having down at Pier 62 at the Seattle Waterfront Park next to the Aquarium. There’s things going on August 1st through the 3rd including live music and displays and a search and rescue demo.

It’s all part of the newly opened Pier 62/Seattle Waterfront Park schedule of events this summer. Check out their website for more fun events happening pretty much every day: https://waterfrontparkseattle.org/events/?utm_source=Media&utm_medium=SGScene&utm_campaign=Summer

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
