Just when you thought you were done with celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride in the Greater Seattle Metroplex along comes….ALKI BEACH PRIDE!
Yes, Seattle’s answer to Malibu (it’s hard to not laugh while typing that….) is back with their superfun annual Pride event and it’s happening this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 13th and 14th. This year’s theme is “Together Again” which makes sense…what with Covid and all.
There are a variety of events over the two days including indoor ones at local venues like Blue Moon Burger and Arthurs’s and outdoor ones on the beach.

Q: WHERE IS THE EVENT?
A: All along Alki Ave plus inside participating restaurants.
Q: WHAT TIME IS THE EVENT?
A: Sat, Aug 14, 11:00 AM-1:00 AM & Sun, Aug 15, 1:00 PM-10:00 PM (see specific event details on instagram or facebook)
Q: WILL THERE BE FOOD PROVIDED?
A: This year, 2021, receive special discounts at participating West Seattle and local businesses on Alki. Say “LOVE WINS”.
Q: WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
A: Parking on Alki is limited therefore alternate transportation is recommended.
TBD: 2021 all day special event parking on Saturday 8/14 located at Bar-S Playfield ($TBD).

- Scooters: The following options are available along Alki Avenue for rental using your smartphone/app:

Q: WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
A: Plan for a day at the beach; sunglasses, sunscreen, chairs and/or blankets and shade. Please follow social distancing guidelines and wear masks based on current guidelines.
Q: CAN I BUY T-SHIRTS AND HATS?
A: No merchandise available for 2021.
Q: CAN I BRING FOOD TO COOK ON A GRILL?
A: For those who wish to grill there’s one small charcoal platform in the grass area at Alki Beach Park. Or, you can bring your own grill. Park closes at 10:00 PM daily – beach fires must be put out by 9:30 PM.
Q: WILL THERE BE A FIRE PIT AVAILABLE?
A: Fire pits at Alki Beach Park are first come first served. The park closes at 10:00 PM and fire pits must be put out by 9:30 PM.
Q: CAN I BRING MY DOG?
A: Dogs are not allowed on any of Seattle’s public saltwater beaches (sand area, shoreline, or water) whether leashed or unleashed. Your furry friends are welcome on the boardwalk and grass areas at Alki Beach Park.
Q: CAN I BRING MY KIDS?
A: Yes! This is a family-friendly community event.
