Every holiday season, Seattle is INUNDATED with a plentiful bounty of LGBTQ+ themed Christmas-y themed live stage shows starring our greatest local talents as well as out of town superstars (and a few who started out as one before becoming the other…cough, cough….Jinkx and DeLa….)
The first one we’ll showcase is the return of SCOTT SHOEMAKER’S WAR ON CHRISTMAS! the beloved Xmas themed show from the mad minds behind Ms Pak-Man…Mr. Shoemaker is back with his own personal war on the holiday with the aid of his partner in everything, Freddy Molitch plus a whole clatch of familiar faces as co-stars including Major Scales who has apparently been released from the clutches of Mizz Monsoon for the month of December!
The show runs December 1st through the 23rd at Theatre Off Jackson and rest assured, it’s a NEW show with NEW material! None of this doing the same damn show year after year!

Christmas is saved! Scott Shoemaker’s War on Christmas is back! The all-star variety spectacular that quickly became a Christmas tradition returns to Theatre Off Jackson. Scott will display his obsession with Yuletide traditions to the delight of audiences who need a little extra Christmas cheer. You can expect the unexpected with this cast of queerdos, whose greatest Christmas wish is to bring you joy with their slightly subversive celebrations.
“In November and December, Christmas is everywhere you look, but not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for the holiday or feels included,” said Freddy Molitch, co-writer of Scott Shoemaker’s War on Christmas. “That’s why we developed a show that provides a space for everyone to join in the festivities during this time of year, including those with a ‘Bah Humbug’ attitude.”
It’s a hilarious night of comedy, songs, dance numbers, delightful videos, and partial nudity! Waging war on Christmas has never been this entertaining. Laugh your Christmas stockings off at this show filled with all-new musical numbers, major twists, and out-of-this-world Christmas surprises, but be warned…it will definitely put you on the naughty list.
Joining Scott are some of the brightest stars in Seattle’s music, burlesque, and comedy scenes, including Ade, Mandy Price, and Major Scales (Richard Andriessen). Major is known for being one half of “The Vaudevillians” along with drag superstar Jinkx Monsoon. Joining the War on Christmas cast this year is Joel Domenico, who recently appeared in the 5th Avenue Theatre’s productions of Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Sweeney Todd.
“We hope this year’s show will add a healthy dose of irreverence and humor to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, said Scott Shoemaker. “Get ready to have a blast watching this unconventional and laugh-out-loud holiday show.”
