Burien Rocks Their Pride Fest This Weekend With Pancakes and Drag Queens! YUM!

So many local Pride fests to choose from now! It used to be, you could only find any kind of LGBTQ+ Pride Festival event in major cities or arty farty resort towns. In the last few years, at least locally, pretty much every suburb or satellite city of Seattle has some kind of event celebrating LGBTQ pride. One of the first to jump on the bandwagon, was the coastal burb of Burien, to the southwest of Seattle…they’ve been putting on entire weekends of events for several years now, largely due to the many nesting lesbian and gay couples who set up housekeeping there in the last decade or two.

This year’s Burien Pride Fest is happening the weekend of June 7th-9th, taking over the 2nd weekend of June after several years producing the event the first weekend of the month…which was probably a good idea since White Center’s Pride event has now established itself on the first weekend of June and its huge success coupled with its close proximity to Burien made for an unneccessary competition.

For 2024, Burien has a ton of events including the return of their popular pancake feed. The deets and schedule:

Friday, June 7th – 5pm-10pm
Street dance party with guest DJ

Saturday, June 8th – 10am-10pm
All day festival with kids area and over 70 booths with giveaways and more! DJ from C89.5 and drag performances

Sunday, June 9th – 10am-2pm
Drag Queen Bingo & Pancake Breakfast
