Oscar viewing options at Cinerama/Purr/R Place/OutWest

February 23, 2012• bySeattle Gay Scene

Normally I do a post every year where I list most of the big Oscar viewing parties in Seattle. Obviously the focus is on Three Dollar Bill Cinema/Gay City’s annual event which is once again happening at the gorgeous Cinerama, but I usually also mention all the other big parties in town. Not gonna do it this year. They don’t send me press releases about their events so I’m not gonna include them this year…we’re gonna stick with out queer homies.

Word.

Here’s you homo inclined viewing options for Oscar 2012! Try not to vomit as Billy Crystal hosts…(not a fan.)

7th Annual Academy Awards Party @ Cinerama. Three Dollar Bill Cinema and Gay City Health Project presents Seattle’s best Academy Awards party, hosted by none other than Le Faux’s own rising star Jinkx Monsoon. Enjoy light bites and decadent drinks, all while watching Hollywood’s biggest stars shine on the biggest screen in town! Walk the red carpet at 5pm, $30 ($65 VIP at 4pm w/ free champagne). 21+

A Night at the Oscars @ Purr. Co-presented by SGN, celebrate the Academy Awards in style with prizes and drink specials 4pm-9pm, No Cover. 21+

R Places’s Annual Oscar Party @ R Place. Showing the Red Carpet arrival starting at 2:30. The Actual Academy Awards start at 5pm. Get there early to fill out your ballots. Winners will be given some cool prizes. $6 Double Absolut Cocktails, A Special Oscar Shot, and Happy Hour Drink Prices all day. This event will be catered with some fine complimentary food. 21+

Black & White Oscar Party @ OutWest Bar. Doors open at 3 pm, show starts at 4 pm. OutWest is purchasing an additional large television for this event! Show up before 4 pm to fill out your ballots and get a chance to win awesome movie prizes! Pop Quizzes/Prizes/Drink Specials all night long. Black & White attire encouraged but not mandatory! 21+

We’re guessing some other bars might be showing the Oscars as well, but none of them seem to have Facebook or website announcements about any such events.
