Community HIV Cure Research Workshop – Afternoon Session
March 3, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
In Seattle for a major conference called CROI, the people at the forefront of this effort will share the research, concerns and conversations about the great challenges we face in eliminating HIV from the body.
Join us for this free and informative event.
We are lucky to have Dr. Carl Dieffenbach, who serves as the Director of the Division of AIDS (DAIDS) opening our afternoon session.
DAIDS is a part of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
Dr. Dieffenbach oversees a global HIV/AIDS research portfolio of more than $1 billion and a staff of more than 150 federal employees.
He is responsible for developing and supporting the infrastructure and biomedical research needed to create new approaches for the treatment and cure of HIV.
We’ll also have a special appearance by Timothy Ray Brown, the first and to-date still only person to be cured of HIV. Together with Timothy, we will celebrate the 12th year of his being cured through a stem cell transplant with HIV-resistant donor cells.
The full line-up of speakers and topics is given below.
And be sure to check out the event page for our morning session at the Crowne Plaza Hotel from 9am to 12pm! https://bit.ly/2CERMGR
