DETAILS:
API Chaya’s Queer Network Program is partnering with Fox Hampton from Black and Pink’s Seattle Chapter, to learn about Black & Pink’s prison abolition work, how to write letters & become pen pals with our incarcerated trans & queer siblings on the inside.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE SPACE:
—DIALOGUE + INFO: Fox will provide letter writing tips, hold space for dialogue, resources and info to learn more about Black and Pink!
—LETTER WRITING: letter writing materials and contact information for queer and trans incarcerated folks will be available for folx interested in starting penpalship or even sending a bday card!
**There is no expectation to become a penpal or write a letter.**
***QTBIPOC Snack n Chat plans to have Black & Pink Letter Writing Stations at every future monthly snack n chat***

TRANSPORTATION:
– PARKING: Free 2 hour street parking is available on 16th avenue in front of the office.
– PUBLIC TRANSIT: Buses 7 (3 minute walk from bus stop) and 8 (9 minute walk from bus stop).
ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:
WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: This space is wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp leading to the entrance as well as steps.
SCENT FREE: Please come scent-free and avoid wearing perfumes and other fragrances to reduce the risk of exposure to our community members with chemical sensitivities. *The space is an older building and is not completely scent free.* We will post periodic articles/info about how to show up to a space scent-free.

BATHROOMS:
2 restrooms will be converted into all-gender restrooms.
Restroom 1: Has wheelchair accessible stall with bar + one urinal
Restroom 2: 2 stalls, one wheelchair accessible stall with bar
Baby Changing stations available in both restrooms
ASL INTERPRETERS: We are currently in the process of searching for ASL interpreters for this event. If you or anyone you know who is interested in participating in this event wants an ASL interpreter, please contact lourdez@apichaya.org. We will post periodic updates regarding where that process is at, and stay in close contact with any folks who reach out to us via email regarding ASL interpreter status.
