Stuff To Do In July: Golden Girls LIVE Returns to Seattle For Two Big Shows

June 23, 2022• byMichael Strangeways

Yes, I know we’re focused on the here and the now meaning LGBTQ Pride Week in Seattle but there’s also planning to be done for the future.

Like, what the hell is there to do in mid-July?

We have a solution for ya….go see the return of THE GOLDEN GIRLS LIVE at the Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill on July 15th or 16th!

Yes, you heard that right…it’s the live on stage drag parody production that is a beloved institution in San Francisco and starring the one and only Heklina as Dorothy Zbornak along with D’arcy Drollinger as Rose Nylund, Jef Valentine as Blanche Devereaux, and Holotta Tymes as Sophia Petrillo. They’ve performed in Seattle before but it was long ago in the “before Covid” times when life was innocent and pure.

The quartet are hitting the road for a summer tour that will hit Palm Springs, Boise, Portland and Seattle. Head to show producer Obsessed Presents website to grab tickets for any of those cities: https://www.obsessedwith.co/golden-girls-live

(You can also snoop around their website to find info and tickets to other tours they do like the Trixie & Katya tour or the upcoming Adore Delano tour.)

For this tour, the ladies will be spoofing two beloved episodes of The Golden Girls: THAT’S FOR ME TO KNOW (Season 7, Episode 4), and AN ILLEGITIMATE CONCERN (Season 5, Episode 17).

And, as always, the cast would like to thank YOU for being their friend…but only if you buy a ticket.

Buy some merch and they’ll adopt you.

Blanche might sleep with you.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
