Congratulations to Sex & the City actress Cynthia Nixon and her partner Christine Marinoni. Ms Marinoni gave birth to Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni yesterday in NYC. Both mother and child are doing well. This is the first child for the couple; Ms Nixon has two children from her marriage to Danny Mozes. And, as expected, blogger Michael K. from D-Listed is beside himself with glee…the naughty gossip has been following the couple for years, and gave Marinoni the nick-name, “Rojo Caliente” for her delightful head of ginger hair.
Bonus Fun Fact: Ms Nixon is 3/4 of the way to an “EGOT” (winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony). She has two Emmys, a Tony for the Broadway run of Rabbit Hole and a Grammy for a spoken word album. Tracy Jordan must be insanely jealous.
Bonus Fun Fact #2: SATC producer Michael Patrick King is reportedly working on a PREQUEL to Sex & the City focusing on a young Carrie Bradshaw’s arrival in Manhattan twenty years ago. It will allegedly be based on original writer Candice Bushnell’s novels The Carrie Diaries and/or the just published Summer in the City. Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively has been linked to the role of young Carrie, but her reps deny this. Following the dismal critical/commercial reception of the last SATC film, the new film is an attempt to keep the franchise alive with younger, sexier versions of the four main characters.
My question: who would play the young Stanford Blatch, Carrie’s long time gay confidant currently played by Willie Garson? I vote for Zac Efron…it’s possible he could end up short and bald.
