Ginger Girl Photography, one of Seattle Gay Scene’s newest contributors, was on hand this last Saturday to capture “40 Is A Drag!”, presented by Sister Glo N Euro N’Wei. This joint venture between Camp Ten Trees, The Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence, Hard Times and The Nova was a multi-faceted event geared toward queer youth, as well as a benefit for Camp Ten Trees. The event featured a drag workshop from 6-8PM, which featured local drag kings/queens, burlesque/boylesque performers, makeup artists and more sharing their best tips.
From 8:30 – 11:00PM, the Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence embarked on a bucket run of gay venues to raise money to purchase Camp Ten Trees a new radio communications system for their 2011 season, while the youth stayed behind and danced at a Hard Times style dance party, complete with DJ L.A. Kendall, DIY photo booth, and a performance by Ben DeLaCreme. The photos above are just a peek at the evenings festivities….to view more CLICK HERE!
Strangeways Note: We’re very happy to welcome Amy, aka, Ginger Girl, to the SGS family! These photos are absolutely adorable and the event looks like it was a blast for the entire LGBTQ family. And, normally we’d encourage you to run and get your tickets for Camp Ten Tree’s annual dinner/auction which is happening April 23 at Herban Fest at SoDo Park, but the event is SOLD OUT! But, you can ALWAYS help out this amazing and inspirational organization by making a donation.
DO IT!
