Community Conversations at GenPRIDE
December 11, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Our Community Conversations provide a consistent opportunity to meet and discuss issues that are relevant to our LGBTQIA+ community. It’s a great place meet new friends and have a voice on topics that impact you.
We hold these events at several locations in the Seattle Metro area. Attendees are free to discuss any topic in a judgement free and safe space. All senior LGBTQIA+ are welcome including their caregivers, friends, family, and allies. While others are welcome to participate, our communities’ voices will be prioritized and we hold a judgement free, safe space for all members.
December – The Seattle Freeze.
Do you know your neighbors? Do you talk to strangers?
Are you very polite but not particularly friendly?
How can we improve our city’s image?
January – Super Heroes.
Super heroes don’t always wear capes or come flying out of phone booths.More often than not, they are ordinary people who by their extraordinary actions have in some way freed us to live the truth of who we are. Who are your super heroes and how have they inspired you to live out your truth?
February – Good Reads In Our Lives.
Is there a book that has inspired you to action or left you feeling as though there was someone who finally understood you? Maybe it’s a book that beckons you to a reread every decade or so. Bring your book and tell us how it came to be an inspiration or simply a favorite place to go.Note: Books may be from any genre.
March – The Good Old Days.
Drag shows, pride parades, Christmas in July or The Prom You Never Went To;
What were your most memorable experiences as a young one in what we called the Gay community?
Bring a photo and let’s share our stories.
