Emerald City Black Pride #Blacklove weekend is on! The events for the weekend are part of an initiative to foster pride and strengthen the sense of community among LGBTQ people of color with a focus on African-Americans. It is a reflection and celebration of our diversity, voice and the values of our community.
The @ECBP Family Reunion BBQ hosted at Alvin Larkins Park, will bring together all of our elders, children, friends, family and allies to celebrate what pride means to us all and hear from powerful community leaders, like Luzviminda Lulu Carpenter, Vanessa Grandberry, C Davida Ingram and Steven R Sawyer. Along with performances by Diamond Sj James, Dennis Jimerson (aka Regine Dynasty) and others!
The day before will be the Emerald City Black Pride: #Blacklove Party, hosted at The Hillman City Collaboratory, will be a night of hip-hop and soul music, dancing and community performances to celebrate that we, as a community, continue to survive against all odds and our voice is growing! With music by Sassyblack, Darqness Seattle and others!
While ECBP is focused on the African-American LGBTQ community we welcome and encourage other people of color and white allies to come and celebrate with us!!
