Occlusions is the experimental R&B project of vocalist Monica Thomas and producer Alex Gorischek. Pulling sounds and inspiration from hip-hop, R & B, downtempo, chillwave, grunge, witch house, and pop, Occlusions’ resulting sound is something that stands entirely on its own. Atwood Magazine calls their music “an enchanting soundtrack to our dreams.” Their debut EP “Kissing Silhouette” comes out June 1.
Nic Masangkay is a 25-year-old, multiply-marginalized poet, music producer, and singer-songwriter based in Seattle. With poetry Buzzfeed claims “will leave you speechless” and music the Seattle Times reports is “synth-pop with overlaid vocals in the style of Reggie Watts,” Nic is most grateful for the support they receive from their family, friends, and communities. Currently, Nic is working on a new collection of music and spoken word as a 2018-2019 Artist Support Program Resident at Jack Straw Cultural Center.
Da Qween is an experience! Raw flows and honest delivery with bars more solid than the foundation to your house! Qween is a rapper, singer, songwriter, event host, and so much more. Their latest project is the Deluxe Version of their debut Mixtape BabeSpace, released on 4/20. They’ve made it their life’s work to inspire and encourage all queers to take the unconventional route and be the star the beauty the love they want in this world by giving them the tools to get free through music and performance.
Noné The Boo started as a DJ in Seattle and co-created Seattle’s first official queer Latinx party, “Caramelo”, as well as “Barrio Queer.” After over 2 years of DJing and organizing a queer Latinx space in the PNW Noné is now moving on to creating music that, similar to the spaces they created, is a hybrid of the dualities and realities of being a Chicanx. As one of the first emerging artist of “Da Crown”, along with Da Qween, Noné The Boo embraces Spanglish Tex-Mex roots while also celebrating their queer sexuality and fat brown body.
