Social Queer Gratitude Party!
November 16, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm
It’s almost that time of year, a time when friends and/or family get together and reaffirm their appreciation for one another. What better way to do so than to celebrate our diverse community at a beautiful yoga studio – a place where we can discuss and engage in gratitude for where we are and for those who have helped us along the way!
I am excited to announce that in recognition of the season, The Social Queer™ will be hosting a special event for you, and for all of us. On Saturday, November 16th from 6pm – 11pm we will be at OmCulture, a lovely and serene spot in Wallingford.
The purpose is multidimensional – The event will kick off with table topic discussions around gratitude – enabling us to get to know one another on a different level. We’ll also have pronoun pins and name tags with space to write where we’re from. Bumper Mennen of The Lumber Yard Bar will be pouring drinks, Colleen Burns with Side Hustle will be spinning tunes, and Lindsay McLean will be capturing the night with photos. It’s a Saturday night, so we’ll eventually go from getting-to-know-you mode to party mode, and DJ Colleen will adjust the tracks accordingly.
And with any good 5 hour party, we’ll need some food. Happy to share that the one and only Skillet will have a truck outside of Om just for us.
As many of you know, I strive to keep these events as accessible as possible. In the event that we need to pay for services, eg. renting on a venue or paying a DJ, etc. we need to charge a bit more. Tickets will start at $15 for the next two weeks, and then go to $20. However, whatever is left after we cover our costs will go to Lambert House, which is an incredible youth home that provides a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ children and young adults of Seattle.
Can’t. WAIT.
*This event is about our community, for our community. ADA accessible, trans-inclusive environment and we do not condone sexism, ableism, racism, homophobia, or bigotry of ANY form.
