For older LGBTQ people, the exhibit packs a wallop of emotion, for it shows the art and personal lives of artists at a time when they could not be open about their sexuality or intimate friendships.
Some of the works on display are breathtaking in scope, beauty, and subject matter, and the personal details about the artists included in the exhibit drive home how courageous and innovative these artists were to survive in a less-welcoming era.
The exhibit runs through January 26.CasCAS
