Still Seeking a few more Single Fan Boys for Meet Market: Geek Night

Note: you do not need to resemble a gay porn super hero to participate in this event.

Once again Seattle Gay Scene and Gay City Health Project are teaming up for another “Meet Market” speed dating event and this time we’re going “Geeky”! (No, not GLEEKY! Shudders…) The fun starts Wednesday, April 25th at 6:30pm at Lobby Bar and it’s a pretty basic premise: you’ll go on multiple 3 minute dates with like minded single gentlemen who hopefully share your passions and interests in comic books, super heroes, vampires, zombies, aliens, role playing and/or video games or some combination thereof. And, if you’re really only a fan of ONE type of genre, (maybe you only love “Dr. Who” or “Star Trek”) that’s cool, too. You don’t have to be a card carrying Uber Geek with a protractor and a shelf full of action figures living in your Mama’s basement.

But, we do hope you show up in costume! (though, you don’t have to…) You also need to be over 21 years of age and a single gay man interested in meeting other single gay men. And, if you’re interested in participating, then go register at Gay City!

We could still use a couple more participants in “Geek Night” so we have a nice full selection of men to mingle with, so we’re going to have a little contest and give away TWO free entries to the event which costs $20. And, this time it’s gonna be a simple essay question. In a sentence or two, or a SHORT paragraph, tell us WHAT classic sci fi/fantasy/horror/super hero book, movie, tv show, or game you would like to inhabit for a day. In other words, do you yearn to spend some time at Hogwarts, or visit Krypton pre-explosion, or zip around the universe in the Millenium Falcon or the USS Enterprise, or have a picnic in Hobbiton, or spend some time with the Doctor in the Tardis, or go patrolling with Buffy, or have some quality time with Lestat…WHATEVER genre fantasy you have, we want to hear a BRIEF explanation of WHERE and WHO and WHY you want to inhabit that world.

Send your responses to strangeways@seattlegayscene.com and winner (or winners) will be announced later today. Again, a short paragraph at best…I don’t have time to read long essays on how you’d like to toss Han Solo’s salad! (Or, do I?)

Please only play if you can and want to go to the Meet Market event which is Wednesday evening (tomorrow) from 6:30pm to 8pm and only if you’re a single gay man over the age of 21 looking to meet other single gay men.
