Friday Funday: Comicon Opens/Geeks Rejoice…Plus: Joey Arias, Boylesque And Latrice Royale

A terrific line-up of talent at R Place this month…but, can we get up a collection to send their poster designer to PhotoShop classes?

Nerds are poppin’ boners all over the place today because the Emerald City Comicon is open for bidness…there are plenty of gay events happening in association with the ‘con, including a party at Raygun Lounge, 501 East Pine Stree tonight called Excelsior and it’s happening 8pm to 11pm. Phasers on….stun a hot nerd into bed!

We already mentioned Joey Arias is at Re-bar (with Kristian Hoffman) both Friday and Saturday. Joey Arias is a God(dess). Go and Experience the magic!

There’s also a HUGE Boylesque show at Century Ballroom’s West Hall tonight at 7:30pm. It’s a big annual boys only burlesque show with an awesome line-up of talent:

As usual, there are 500 drag events going on tonight, including UW’s big annual drag show, and yet another drag pageant of some kind at Neighbours, but the big get of the night is the presence of a big, drag, Superstar and the most beloved cast member of Season Four of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the one and only LATRICE ROYALE is at R Place for shows tonight (Friday) and Saturday. She’s kicking off an entire month of special RPDR related guests at R Place which they are cleverly calling “March Dragness” (get it? a play on March MADNESS which has something to do with basketballs…we think…)

Shangela will be bopping by R Place next week, from Thursday to Saturday which includes a visit to Thirsty Thurdays. She’ll be followed by current RPDR contestant, DETOX ICUNT on March 15 & 16, and the recently booted Puerto Rican beauty, Lineysha Sparkx from the 28th to the 30th.

Those are some pricey guests…R Place just busted their budget. I guess that means April and May will be a constant parade of Paradiscos and LadyDudes!
