We’ll totally admit that we stopped watching new episodes of the ridiculously long running and iconic cartoon “The Simpsons” a long time…it started feeling a bit phoned in, back in Season 47.
But, the announcement that Universal Studios Florida is preparing to open “Simpsons Land” this year, a new area of the park that recreates Springfield, Anywhere USA, the hometown of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa & Maggie, makes us very excited. Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a Duff Beer or a Flaming Moe cocktail in the muggy warmth of the Orlando area? And, being Universal, there’s also the obligatory ride where they strap you in and take you on a magical adventure:
Ride along with The Simpsons™ as they visit Krustyland, the low-budget theme park created by famed TV personality and shameless product huckster Krusty the Clown. Is somebody out to sabotage the park? You’ll find out as you join Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie and enter through the carnival-like midway.
We’re guessing there will be poorly paid actors walking around in Simpson costumes…our question is, will we see “Pimply Faced Teen”, “Cat Lady” and “The Bouvier Sisters”? They’re our favorites!
And, in case you haven’t heard, the hugely popular Harry Potter section of Universal Florida will be recreated at Universal Studios Hollywood as well….SQUEEE!
