Saturday Pride Highlights Include “Queer Carnival” and “Red Party”

June 29, 2013• bySeattle Gay Scene

BigRed

Rough…we’re feelin’ rough after Friday night’s Pridey Fun in Seattle.

We’re so glad we’re not on a Big Gay Pride Cruisey Thing right now…the idea of a swaying boat and hundreds of braying homosexuals makes us a bit queasy…though, we hope the folks who did go, are having a good time.

And, not falling overboard.

We had a bit of foresight and wrote the preview post about today’s DAYTIME activities YESTERDAY and scheduled it to post automatically…’cause we knew we weren’t going to be functioning this morning.

Now it’s time to prep for the AFTER DARK Fun…and being Pride Saturday, there’s a ton going on.

Q has a big name DJ…Neighbours has a minor Pussycat Doll…R Place has Latrice Royale…Julia’s On Broadway/LeFaux actually has Jinkx on stage…Purr’s Block Party has Twin DJs…and, The Wildrose’s BUSH GARDENS is going strong…plus, every other bar/club in town has SOMETHING special going on. You can get the deets on the Calendar!

But, the two big events are Nark Magazine’s QUEER CARNIVAL with special guests Ivy Winters, doing her circus thing, and Bright Light Bright Light from the UK plus gobs and gobs of local entertainers and djs including TROUBLE. It’s at Fred Wildlife Refuge starting at 9pm and tickets are available at the door. If it’s anything like last night’s GENDER BLENDER blow out at Neighbours, it should be a hoot and a half.

Also…there will be an excessive amount of homosexuals screaming IIIIII-VEEEEEEE WIN-TURRRRRRRZZZZ!  We feel sorry for Miss Winters for having to endure that.

Meanwhile, over at Neumos, it’s the Big RED Party produced by PrideFest/One Degree, the annual men’s dance party with djs Tony Moran and Phil B. plus a live performance from Abigail. It’s your traditional, sweaty disco pride event and it goes until 5am. It LOOKS like there should be a few tickets at the door. The fun starts at 9pm.

We should also point out that there are all sorts of events out there for just about everyone…and, some at non-traditional venues. Unicorn and Highline Bar both have fun queer events going on, and there’s stuff happening ALL over the Hill and beyond.

Check it all out on the Main Calendar.

And, please be safe…no driving under the influence…HYDRATE…don’t make rash decisions in the heat of a drug/booze induced snog fest in a dingy alley.

We need y’all of you alive for Pride Sunday!
