GORGY Posters Illuminate Events For Pride Asia Including Saturday’s “Rice Ball”

Art: Devon Yan-Berrong

I was very mean last week about the unfortunate poster design for the Pride Flag ceremony at City Hall….it was hideously ugly and worthy of derision.

Can’t say that about these deliciously GORGEOUS posters for two big upcoming Pride Asia events…they are beautifully evocative and witty! The first one up is this coming Saturday’s (May 31) RICE BALL to be held at Neighbours Nightclub. It’s a “celebration of National Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month through a diverse perspective” and part of Pride Asia’s annual events focusing on LGBTQ Asians and Pacific Islanders and their allies and supporters.

(ADDED INFO: These beautiful posters were designed by the talented Devon Yan-Berrong!!!)

Rice Ball will be hosted by Seattle Pride’s Pride Idol 2012 winner Chase Silva and the current Miss UTOPIA Atasha Manila, with

with Keynote Speaker, Norma Timbang
and featuring special performances by

DJ BISH of JKPop Seattle
Miss Gay Pride Alessandra Hunt
Miss Neighbours Anastasia Beaverhausen
Jack Mozie
Lady Sahara
La Saveona Hunt
Miss Northwest Yahaira Rubi Arenas
Yee-shin Huang
and more!

Pride ASIA’s mission is to celebrate, empower and nurture the multi-cultural diversity of the LGBTQ communities through the APIA lens.

Advance tickets are $20 and available here. This is a 21+ event with ID. Day of show tickets for $25 will be available at the door. The party/performances start at 7 pm with the door open at 6 pm. More info at

The second very attractive poster is for the Pride Asia celebration happening on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from Noon to 4 pm at Hing Hay Park in Seattle’s International District. This is a FREE, all-ages event to be hosted by Aleksa Manila, who is a Grand Marshal for this year’s Seattle Pride Parade on Sunday, June 29, 2014.
