Urban Focus Studios/Photography was lucky enough to get invited to attend the taping for the finale of Season 7 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles a couple weeks ago. We thought it would be loverly to showcase the photes taken of the Red Carpet arrivals that night as (some) of us who still care about RPDR sit down to view the show this evening (Monday, June 1) either at home, or in various seedy bars across our fine land.

It’s 6 pm so the show is just beginning to air on the East Coast feeds. In about 45 minutes, the 22 people on the planet who actually cared about this dismally cast and produced season will know who snatches this year’s crown!

Enjoy! And, may the best “Woman”….WIN!

Kennedy Davenport finished 4th. Frankly, some of us think she should have been in the Top 3. Photo: Urban Focus Studios

She was favored to go all the way but Miss Fame didn't make it to the Top. You can see her later this month at GENDER BLENDER at Neumos, with Ginger and Violet! Photo: Urban Focus Studios

Here's a mug from the past! Tyra whatshername, the pretty but vapid and unpopular winner of Season 2! That was back in the Good Ole Days when RuPaul picked the winners during the original taping and made dumb choices. Photo: Urban Focus Studios.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
