Yikes…it’s started already. The hubbub over EMERALD CITY COMICON 2017 which doesn’t happen until March 2-5, 2017 but passes and tickets just went on sale and…
FOUR DAY PASSES ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT?!?!?!?
wtf?
You snooze, ya lose around FanBoy/FanGirl Land!
You can still grab single day tickets but that’s kind of tough when you don’t know the schedule. But, if in doubt, ALWAYS buy a ticket for Saturday because that tends to be the Biggest Day and the day everyone is at the con. And, though they’ve just started releasing the line-up we already know a few biggies…like CARRIE FISHER AND PETER “CHEWBACCA” MAYHEW are headlining this year and both are scheduled to around that Saturday.
And, for more recent Geek Squee TV celebrities, they’ve announced that two adorably talented actresses from the freakishly popular Netflix series, STRANGER THINGS will be bopping into the con. MILLIE BOBBY BROWN (aka “Eleven”) and SHANNON “BARB” PURSER will be venturing from “The Down Under” to hopefully spill some beans about Season Two of the hit series. “Barb” was dead and “Eleven” was missing…will they return in some way for more adventures in the 1980s set show, a loving homage/parody of Spielberg movies and Stephen King miniseries of the era?
They’ve also released the news that the voice cast for Animaniacs will be reuniting at ECCC…and, the Godfather of many beloved Marvel superheroes, the one and only Stan Lee will appear as well. (Doesn’t he come every year?)
But, frankly we’re most excited about the Stranger Things cast showing up…Millie Bobby Brown is a brilliant actress and “Barb” was a hoot. We’re pretty sure “Eleven” will be back for the second season but we hope “Barb” returns, too. It’s a sci-fi/horror show so anything can happen…maybe Barb isn’t really dead. Or, she’s a zombie. We’d even settle for a Dream Sequence! At the very least, they should open Season 2 with the Ghost of Barb hounding best friend Nancy for leaving her in the lurch just so Nancy could go sleep with her creepy boyfriend.
We’d watch the hell out of that.
In the meanwhile, go snatch tickets for ECCC now while they have them. And, stay tuned for more announcements about guests. We’re secretly hoping “Chief Hopper” from Stranger Things will be a guest. He’s a hunk of burning love.
