It’s opening tonight, Friday, May 5th: Deaf Spotlight, the local non-profit that showcases creative work by and for Deaf people in the Pacific Northwest is presenting their third theatrical piece, a new play SKIN by playwright Crystal L.M. Roberts which focuses on 4 Deaf queer women living in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. It stars Rhonda Cochran, Kalen Feeney, Amelia Hensley and Michelle Mary Schaefer and the performances are in American Sign Language with English subtitles on screens.

Deaf Spotlight is pleased to present its 3rd theatrical production, SKIN, this spring by an emerging playwright, Crystal L.M. Roberts. This play will be on stage for eight performances from May 4 – 7 and 12 – 13, 2017, at the 12th Ave Arts Mainstage in Seattle, Washington. SKIN will be directed by Alexandria Wailes who has over 15 years of acting/directing/ choreographing and a lifetime of dancing.
This story follows four Deaf queer women who are struggling to make sense of violence, sex, love and friendship amidst a changing landscape, Seattle’s Capitol Hill.
All performances will be in ASL with English subtitles. The play will be one hour and 45 minutes without an intermission.
DOORS WILL OPEN 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE TIME.
This production consists of the following: nudity, profanity and themes of sexual assault, suicide & alcohol addiction. Viewer discretion is advised. Note that evening performances are at 7 pm.
