Mark “Mom” Finley’s new autobiographical solo theater piece, “Somebody Get Me a Chainsaw” debuted earlier this year in the intimate little dungeon theater at the “InArts NW” space up by the Trader Joe’s on top of the Hill. Somehow, he convinced the brave souls at Gay City Arts to give him a slot in this year’s season of performance pieces, most of which are by/for/about Queer Femme Artists Of Color and since all of Seattle’s Queer Femme Artists of Color are smart enough to avoid the dreaded December spot, it’s now taken by Ms Finley and her “memoir” show.
We saw this delightfully perverse little train wreck at its tech rehearsal on Wednesday and we….
Recommend it.
WHY THE FUCK NOT?
IT’S CRAZY ASS MARK “MOM” FINLEY TELLING CRAZY ASS STORIES AND BEING ALL DELICIOUSLY MARK FINLEY-ESQUE!
Now obviously Ms Finley has both a legion of devout fans as well a coven (or three) of enraged enemies so….you know who you are. If you j’adore crazy old Mark (who DOES have great stories) then check out this show. It’s a fun 90 minutes of tall tales and boozy singing.
What the old broad does best.
Here’s the link to buy TICKETS and more poo:

It’s been about a decade since Mark Finley tried to make a comeback; at least 2 decades since
she’s done a new live show; and she’s been stuck in this damn town for nearly 3 – wasn’t she
supposed to be dead by now?!?!
The evening promises to be full of Finley’s unbelievable stories. funny songs, classic performances,
and maybe even a giant dildo! As the “script” will be pulled from a button bag live during the
performance, he won’t know what he’s performing until that minute! And you wonder why she wants
the chainsaw!

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
