Union Bar Opens Today At New Location!

It’s finally happening! The day that fans and patrons of Union Seattle have been waiting for….the opening of the bar’s new location at 1009 East Union Street on Capitol Hill. They’re doing a cold open TODAY (Friday, March 12, 2021) at 6 pm.

The popular bar has had a big year coping not only with the Covid-19 pandemic causing closures but also due to the bar losing its lease at its original location 4 blocks up the street at 14th and Union in August of 2020. Union shut down at that location in September and announced they would be moving.

Not much info released about the opening other than their hours are 4pm to 11pm Monday thru Friday and Noon to 11 pm on Saturday and Sunday. And, obviously, not full occupancy and masks required!

Occupancy will go up soon and we’re guessing Union will eventually have a Grand Opening event in the future…announced via their Facebook and here, of course.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
