Scott Shoemaker Still Wages War On Christmas…But, In A Fun Way!

November 24, 2022• byMichael Strangeways

Back for a 5th but non-consecutive year thanks to that fucker Covid, SCOTT SHOEMAKER’S WAR ON CHRISTMAS opens December 2nd for a holiday run at Theatre Off Jackson in the International District. The saucy, campy romp stars beloved local perpetual injenue Scott Shoemaker and his tribe of merry makers in a seasonal farce determined to tickle your seasonal funny bone.

Who doesn’t like their seasonal funny bone tickled?

The gist of it all:

Shoes and Pants Productions announces the return of “Scott Shoemaker’s War on Christmas!” Now in its 5th year, this all-star stage spectacular is one of the most anticipated shows of the holiday season. Written by Freddy Molitch and Scott Shoemaker (Ms. Pak-Man, PROBED!), performances run December 2-24, 2022, at Theatre Off Jackson, 409 7th Ave S.

Christmas is saved! Scott will display his obsession with Yuletide traditions to the delight of audiences who need a little extra Christmas cheer. You can expect the unexpected with this cast of queerdos, whose greatest Christmas wish is to bring you joy with their slightly subversive celebrations. It’s a hilarious night of comedy, songs, dance numbers, delightful videos, and partial nudity!

Joining Scott are some of the brightest stars in Seattle’s music, burlesque, and comedy scenes, including Ade, Faggedy Randy, and Mandy Price. Joining this year’s cast is renowned singer, songwriter, and actor Major Scales (Richard Andriessen). He is known for being one half of “The Vaudevillians” along with drag superstar and recently crowned Queen of all Queens, Jinkx Monsoon.

“We are so excited for this year’s show and the new addition to our cast,” said Scott Shoemaker. “This show will hopefully add a healthy dose of irreverence and absurdism to this often-stressful time of year. Waging war on Christmas has never been this fun!”

“Christmas is everywhere in November and December, and not everyone is excited by the holidays or feels included, so we created a show that allows everyone to celebrate this time of year, even if you’re on the naughty list, well, especially if you’re on the naughty list,” said Freddy Molitch, co-writer of Scott Shoemaker’s War on Christmas.

Tickets are going fast…Tickets are $28 for general admission, $40 for premium tickets (reserved seating in the premium section), and $60 for VIP seating which includes a front row seat, signed poster, Xmas goodie bag, and a meet and greet with the cast.

He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
