More Hobbitses News: Elijah Wood Gets All DJ’d Up At Q Night Club February 1st

January 31, 2024• byMichael Strangeways

It’s not even sold out! What happened to the Lord of the Rings fandom that they’re not turning out to see their Head Hobbit spin some tunes in Seattle!?!?!?? Yes, Elijah Wood, the star of the LOTR and Hobbit films, will pop up in the Emerald City with DJ partner Zach Cowie under their guise of WOODEN WISDOM for an all 45s DJ set at Q Night Club, 1426 Broadway on Capitol Hill this Thursday, February 1st at 10pm.

No, Q is no longer a gay night club, though it was originally half and half when it opened a million years ago and no, Elijah Wood isn’t gay, that we’re aware of, but we do like to share fun events of interest. Not everything we see or do has to be GAY, GAY, GAY!!!!

And, dressing up in our favorite Hobbit drag on a Thursday night to sway to records spun by a cute Hobbitses sounds sorta fun.

Also/also: Elijah Wood is really adorkable!!!!

More skinny about Wooden Wisdom and yes, Q does encourage costumes and cosplay but there are a few ruleses.

WOODEN WISDOM

Wooden Wisdom is what happens when Elijah Wood and Zach Cowie play records together.

Music supervisor Zach Cowie and actor/producer Elijah Wood met a decade ago at a party thrown by Rodarte designers, Kate and Laura Mulleavy. Cowie was the D.J., Wood was a guest, and the two bonded over music — or as Cowie put it, “over a similar sense of adventure in our music consumption.”

Soon after meeting, they formed the DJ duo Wooden Wisdom and have been sharing their love of danceable ’70s/’80s psychedelic funk, international, disco, synth, house, boogie, etc around the world thru their all-vinyl dj sets.
