Legendary Children Returns To Seattle’s Olympic Sculpture Park This Friday

November 11, 2024• byMichael Strangeways

A big, dressy party is happening again…and, it’s FREE!!!! It’s the annual LEGENDARY CHILDREN party produced by Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Public Library, Shunpike and other community partners to showcase Queer People of Color and their art forms including drag, House and Ball cultures and much more. AND, everyone is invited to attend the free event happening on Friday, November 15th from 8pm to 10pm at the PACCAR Pavilion at Olympic Sculpture Park, 2901 Western Ave.

Again it’s free to attend but they’d like you to RSVP that you’re attending…go to https://www.seattleartmuseum.org/whats-on/events/legendary-children-nov-15

There’s a wee bit more info down below including names of emcees and performers. And, this is a fun, dressy event…a chance to put on some cute outfits and have some fun to make you forget, at least for a couple hours, the horrors of the last week…

Celebrate the artistry of the Pacific Northwest’s QTBIPOC community with an evening of drag performances, live music, an open runway, art activities, and more at this FREE event! In partnership with Seattle Public Library, Shunkpike, and community advisors, Legendary Children is a place to spotlight PNW, POC drag royalty, House and Ball culture, performers, visual artists, and community-based organizations.

About the Author: Michael Strangeways

As the Editorial Director/Co-Owner, Michael Strangeways writes, edits and does about a million other jobs for Seattle Gay Scene, Puget Sound's most visited LGBTQ news, arts and entertainment website now celebrating its 14th year as a media outlet. A semi-proud Midwesterner by birth, he's lived in Seattle since 2000. He's also a film producer who would like you to check out the Jinkx Monsoon documentary, "Drag Becomes Him" now available on Amazon.com. In his spare time, he gets slightly obsessive about his love for old movies, challenging theater, "otters", vodka, chocolate, "I,Claudius", Lizzie Borden, real books made out of paper, disaster films, show tunes, Weimar era Germany, flea markets, pop surrealistic art, the sex lives of Hollywood actors both living and dead, kitties, chicken fried steak, haute couture and David Bowie. But, not necessarily in that order.
