The West Seattle Herald has the poo…West Seattle’s new gay bar, OutWest is opening its doors to the public TODAY, Thursday, August 11, 2011 starting at 4pm. It’s a soft opening with a grand opening to be scheduled later when the bar is fully finished…the sound system and TVs have yet to be installed. The bar is West Seattle’s first LGBTQ watering hole since Guppy’s closed down several years ago. Located at 5401 California Avenue SW, the bar is located at the old Westside Pharmacy location and is 4 blocks south from the main Alaska Junction intersection on the corner of California and Brandon Street. The full service bar will also serve food, and according to owners Bob Lunke and Chad Gabelein the hours will be 4pm to 12 Midnight Tuesday through Sunday (closed Mondays).
We’re going to be in West Seattle this evening, so we’ll go and check it out…hopefully, it’s not going to be as packed as C.C Attle’s when they had their re-opening back in June. We’re not big on being packed in like sardines, unless eveyone’s nekkid and covered in olive oil.
