The actual event is terrific. The Pride Flag will be flying over Seattle’s City Hall for the month of June as the city celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Seattle Pride…plus, the occupant of the Mayor’s Office is also a gay man.
You can’t get much gayer than that.
But, wait! You can because the very special Pride Flag Raising Event on June 1 (at 11 am) will feature Mr. Gay Mayor (the Honorable Ed Murray) PLUS special guest speaker the wonderful and equally honorable, Col. Grethe Cammermeyer, a fierce and committed activist who fought to get gay people accepted into the U.S. military.
The fun is all sponsored by the great folks at the Seattle LGBT Commission and the Seattle Office for Civil Rights.
As for the Pride Flag flying over the Space Needle this year….
