Hopefully, you’re pacing yourself and up for all sorts of fun to celebrate Seattle LGBTQ Pride at various events and venues all over town on Pride Saturday, June 25, 2016. There’s TONS of stuff to do in the daytime, much of it family friendly, then TONS more stuff to do that night (mostly un-family friendly….)

Of course you’ll want to cruise through the (for now) Homo Hood of Capitol Hill to check out all the daytime fun including the crazy/odd Capitol Hill / Broadway Pride Street Party, that rag tag line-up of booths and stages on Broadway from John Street north to Roy. It’s a fun walk through with a few stages scattered amidst all the booths selling candles, t-shirts and spine adjustments. And, of course, don’t forget the infamous Doggie Drag competition.

Right in the middle of Capitol Hill’s Pride Party is the very awesome RAINBOW HEALTH FAIR, co-produced by YWCA Women’s Health Outreach & Gay City which offers FREE health services for trans, lesbian, bi, and queer women, as well as trans people of all genders. Come by and find:

There’s also Seattle PrideFest’s official Capitol Hill stage at the Light Rail Station lot at John/Denny & Broadway. It lasts from Noon to 8 pm with this line-up of talent on its stage:

Right next door in Cal Anderson Park, PrideFest is also putting on its Family Pride Event from 1pm to 4pm (which includes bounce houses and the popular Drag Queen Story Time) and the Queer Youth Pride which takes over from 4pm to 7pm.

AND, of course there’s also the very popular SEATTLE DYKE MARCH happening at 5pm on the Hill with it kicking off at 5pm with the rally and the 7pm march. This year’s event will include the beloved “DYKES ON BIKES” leading the march. More info:

Join Seattle’s dykes and supporters at our rally on Capitol Hill in celebration and demonstration as part of the 22nd annual Seattle Dyke March. This year for the first time ever, the Seattle marchers will take to the streets behind the roar of the engines of the Dykes on Bikes. A beloved tradition at Pride events worldwide since 1976, the Dykes on Bikes are a motorcycle honor guard responsible for claiming and holding space for dykes in the streets.

Emcee Marita DeLeon will lead the rally at 5pm, with her hilarious commentary added to two hours of speakers and performers, including local musicians Katie Kuffel, Garlic Man & Chikn, and Stasia Mehschel, as well as spoken-word artistry from Imani Sims, Sholonda Higgins, Natasha Marin, and Anastacia Renee. Speakers from LGBTQ Allyship, Gay City, NW Network, UFCW 21, and more will speak on the theme of this year’s rally: Anti-Violence against Women and Children. This year the Dyke March is coming out against I-1515, an anti-transgender bathroom initiative targeting trans women, uniting both trans and cisgender people to fight against violence towards women and children in our community.

At 7pm the Dyke March will step off on a route around Capitol Hill, with the exciting new addition of the Dykes on Bikes. The march will end in Cal Anderson Park with a rocking after-party featuring DJ Exotiqa.

Also starting in the afternoon, the very popular PURR STREET PARTY and “BUSH GARDENS” at The Wildrose. Purr’s annual event features local DJs Skiddle and Freddy King of Pants and from Los Angeles, The Perry Twins. The fun lasts from Noon to 2am.

In the evening, there’s LOVE IS THE MESSAGE: THE BLACK PRIDE PARTY at Velocity Dance, 1621 12th Avenuem an all-ages celebration for Seattle’s “Black LBGTQI communities and families in a safe and supportive environment” with an “Evening of Pop up performances, DJ sets by Riz Rollins and Stasia Mehschel, youth activities, art and dancing”.
