Dedication of Barbara Bailey Way
August 6, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Please join Mayor Jenny A. Durkan to celebrate the public unveiling of E. Barbara Bailey Way, named in honor of the late LGBTQ+ activist civil rights champion, Barbara Bailey, who passed away in September 2018.
Mayor Durkan will be joined by Michele Hasson from the AIDS Memorial Pathway project, Pride Foundation CEO Katie Carter, and Thatcher Bailey, activist and brother of Barbara Bailey to deliver a brief speaking program in advance of the unveiling.
The new E. Barbara Bailey Way will be located at the Festival Street portion of East Denny Way between Broadway East and 10th Avenue East. The street connects the plaza to Cal Anderson Park within The AIDS MEMORIAL PATHWAY, creating a gathering place for all Capitol Hill Residents.
Please join us as we celebrate Barbara Bailey’s legacy and dedicate this street to her memory.
