It’s apparently a hit…or, at least cheap enough to produce that it makes a profit! That touring Golden Girls parody drag show that has been around for quite awhile now and has already had at least one stop in the greater Seattle area is now bopping into Olympia’s Washington Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday, November 12th.
“Outback Presents: Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue” stars four young actors “dragged up” to portray our beloved Golden Girls. Unlike many drag Golden Girl shows, this one isn’t actually based on one of the original episodes; they wrote their own script which features our gals still kicking it in 2025…despite the fact they’d all be a hundred eighty years old…
I like to make fun of this production solely based on the photos of the actors playing the Girls…their lackluster make-up and awful wigs amuse me. But, that’s because I’m perhaps unfairly comparing them to all the excellent REAL drag queens who do Golden Girls shows, like the gals in San Francisco, originally created and starring the late, great Heklina as Dorothy (and now starring Coco Peru!) and the terrific Los Angeles troupe headed by the legendary larger than life Jackie Beat. Those two icon companies look amazing and they’re hilarious!
But, this traveling troupe might also satisfy your “men pretending to be old ladies” theatrical cravings, so give it a shot if you’re in the Olympia area and are looking for a light evening of entertainment.

The Golden Girls are back in an all new show! 2025 finds Sophia out on bail, after being busted by the DEA for running a drug ring at Shady Pines. Blanche and Rose created CreakN, a thriving sex app for seniors. And Dorothy is trying to hold it all together, with help from her much younger, sex-crazed love interest who turns out to be the district attorney prosecuting Sophia. What could possibly go wrong! Relive the heartfelt hilarity of four ladies who never stopped being your friends! This new comedy is for fans 18 and older…. because they’re not the same girls from the 80’s. Produced by Murray & Peter.
