Happy “Minor Mexican Holiday Turned Into An American Exercise In Binge Drinking Courtesy Of Big Liquor Companies”!!!

It’s Cinco de Mayo, that minor Mexican holiday really only celebrated in a few parts of Mexico that commemorates the Mexicans kicking out the French in 1862 (and, NOT Mexican Independence Day as many believe; that’s September 16). American liquor companies LOVE the idea of anything that promotes the drinking of their product, ergo: Drunko de Mayo!

The more you know…

For once in Seattle, it’s REDONKULOUSLY GORGEOUS outside on May 5th so we hope you’re all out and about sucking up that sun. But, please remember that booze DE-hydrates you, so you also need to drink plenty of WATER! You don’t want to be that messy girl at the party who passes out from too much sun and too many Tequila Sunrises!

Plenty of bars are having Cinco speciales today…we are NOT gonna list them…they can buy an ad.

We will recommend popping by Neighbours this evening at 8pm to check out Seattle Out & Proud’s “Pride Idol”. The competition is heating up, and we’ve heard the deliciously dirty diva, Honey Bucket will be on hand to filth up the proceedings. We hope she sings the song about her “connie”.

She’ll join the other lovely judges and your hostess, Miss Robbie Turner. There are only 2 more weeks of regular competition; this week and next, before “Pridol” takes a break until Sunday, June 2 for the Wild Card Round, and then the following Sunday, June 9 for the Big Finale.

If you’re still out at Gay Madison Beach or even up north at the Nekkid Beach in Edmonds at 8pm, you really need to come in out of the sun before you get an embarrassing burn on parts of the body not normally exposed to the sun.
