Meryl captures Maggie Thatcher's perpetually surprised look flawlessly.

This photo of Meryl Streep portraying former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (who is still alive, for the record), hit the interwebs yesterday starting the buzz about THE IRON LADY – the upcoming biopic about Thatcher’s life. Apparently they only started shooting a week ago, but it’s scheduled for release later this year. Ambitious schedule!

8 days into shooting, and tongues are already wagging. Those readers who remember the Reagan Administration, will likely also remember Margaret Thatcher kicking down age-old gender barriers that made her the first female Prime Minister of the UK, and garnered her the nickname The Iron Lady, from a confused Soviet leader. Mostly, though, she will be remembered as Reagan’s conservative counterpart across the pond, who was responsible for some wildly unfavorable, and frequently Labour-hostile policy.  Read more here…
