Stuff to Do on this “Perfect Storm” weekend…

June 3, 2011• bySeattle Gay Scene

Miss Humphrey is having a birfday...apparently, she wants a kiss in return.

There’s an embarrassment of riches to choose from for this weekend. It’s the first weekend of Pride month, SIFF is going on AND it’s gonna be gorgeous outside so you have MAJOR decisions to make on how you’re going to divide up your weekend.

For lovers of man flesh, there’s “One Night on Folsom Street” a night of dirty disco at the Seattle Eagle with DJ Up Above on Friday OR the option of even raunchier fun at Steamworks for their “Strapped” fetish party with DJ Matt Stands. Saturday flesh hounds can check out the 2nd Annual “‘Not Required, but Desired” Underwear Party at The Lobby with the zexy men from Rain City Soccer Club OR Bear Heat at the Cuff Complex.

Artier types can choose from SAM’s quarterly Remix party but advanced tickets are gone so if you want to go, you’ll have to don some fake fur and be one of the first 50 people in line tonight…OR, you can check out the opening weekend of a new play by Arouet Theatre Company at the Annex called “The Gene Pool”…OR, check out the Captain Smartypants and Sensible Shoes concerts at Town Hall.

Drag lovers have multiple options, too. There’s the offbeat, live performance drag stylings of Miss Jackie Beat at Re-bar on Saturday night followed by the first ever Ms Bacon Strip Pageant with Sylvia O’Stayformore and a judging panel that includes Ade, Jackie Hell and some Strangeways dude…More traditional and regal drag can be found at La Feme Glamafique @ Gary Manuel Aveda Institute on Sunday with members of the Imperial Court of Seattle performing in a benefit for Lifelong AIDS Alliance.

And, we would really suck if we didn’t mention that the Seattle Storm has their opening home game on Saturday at Key Arena against Phoenix Mercury….or, the Flash Mob Boot Camp for lovers of all things “flashy” and “mobby” happening on Sunday….OR, Miss Barbie’s Birfday Bash at Purr on Saturday….help her celebrate her 29th Birfday….again.

Not to mention the Hedwig Pride Kick-Off Party at Cha-Cha with DJ Nark, cupcakes from Cupcake Royal and we’re guessing some tunes from “Hedwig and the Angry Inch”…it benefits the “It Gets Better Project” and it happens Sunday.

AND, The Seattle Fat Cats and Muffin Tops would like to invite you to the 3rd Annual Exhibition Game to benefit Seattle’s Lambert House happening at Cal Anderson Park on Saturday…

Finally, some band called “U2” is playing a gig in town this weekend…we heard they were kind of good.

Oh, and it’s finally warm outside…don’t forget the sunscreen.
